Tandav dance on Founders Day on 22-11-2013
Dance forms are expressions of emotions. Various postures and mudras reflect sentiments, even our Hindu Gods used to adopt various dancing styles to exhibit their strong feelings. Today the students of class 11th are going to pay homage to lord Shiva in order to appease him for peace, progress and prosperity of one and all through Tandav. It is a divine dance form which reflects anger, aggressiveness and subsequent calmness of lord Shiva who got annoyed when goddess Parvati went to her father's house without invitation. She got insulted and thus burnt herself to ashes. Lord Shiva became angry and expressed his aggressiveness through Tandav the vigorous dance.
So, please enjoy students of class 11th performing on stage to present the stuti of Shiva, with a big hand

Ashoka dance on Founders Day on 22-11-2013
History is not complete without the study of the great historical figure King Ashoka who followed Buddhism after seeing the mass destruction during the Kalinga war. Though this piece starts with women of Kalinga blaming Ashoka for the death of their husbands and children during Kalinga war. How he was always fascinated with swords as a kid and grew up high to fight for power and fought with his step brother SUSHIM who also wanted to rule Kalinga. Yet in the end following Buddhism by Ashoka gives a powerful message of non- violence, peace and brotherhood, which is necessary in present scenario.
"Buddham saranam gachchami
Sangam sharanam gachchami."
